Klimek Pays Homage to Rothko and Albers

"Klimek has created a personal language of art that pays homage to Rothko and Albers in an authentic and original way. Her monoprints delight the eye and enrich the spirit with glowing colors that attract your attention. They appear in a strong framework of rectangular forms and straight edges. Carol always balances line and color. She draws to define forms while at the same time creating strong rhythms. Colors identify layers in space while contending with each other on the surface of the print. Her work takes its starting point from the rectangular format of the paper, which states the theme for innumerable variations. The drama of her work is the manipulation of the contrasting elements and symmetrical compositions into a resolution that is serene and ordered. These highly symbolic and abstract works, when perused by the eye and mind, provide an opportunity for the discovery of infinite parallels in your own life and thought."
